NORMA SIMMONS

Norma has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from UCM.  She has spent most of her working career in the tax and accounting field.  She began working in her mother’s business, Alda’s Bookkeeping & Tax Service in 1985.  Norma has also lived in Charleston, SC, and Memphis, TN where she worked for a retirement community and a CPA firm.  These experiences proved invaluable as she moved back to Blue Springs in 1996 to purchase her mother’s business. The two women continued working together until Alda retired in 2006.  The name of this second-generation company was officially changed to Norma’s Tax Service in 2007.  Norma is IRS tested and maintains her AFSP standing as an IRS Preferred Tax Professional.

Norma uses her education background to help teach her clients about business entity choices, income and expenses, payroll, and how everything relates to their tax returns.  She is an expert in helping clients achieve their desired tax outcomes.  With 35+ years of experience in accounting and tax preparation, and a servant’s heart, Norma strives to continue the family legacy by providing the best service possible at affordable prices.  Norma’s Tax Service continues to be a family-run business.  She and her husband, Don, are involved in the day-to-day operations, and each of their three adult children have previously worked in the business as well.  As you allow us to serve your tax and accounting needs, we hope you will feel like part of the family too.

In her spare time, Norma enjoys any lake activity, traveling, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She won’t hesitate to tell you all about the grandkids if you ask, and pictures are definitely available upon request.
